Where I work, we make the paper the newspaper is printed on, and I haven't bought one in a long time. I sometimes wonder if the newspaper publishers just watch to see what news is on the internet, because the internet sure isn't waiting to see what's in the printed newspaper. I'm employed in a dying industry for sure. And as far as the Sunday paper being a tradition, it's just that. Sadly that's dying as fast as the traditionalists do.
And RE reporting on crimes, I was amazed the other day to see a Car Trader-style newsprint publication that had nothing at all in it but mug shots of people who had been arrested in the area, and what they were charged with. No story, just mug shots, a name, and the crime. Laid out like a high school yearbook. It was a fat package, too. The Freedom of Information Act at its best.
3 out of 4 weeks we will pick up the early adition of the Sunday paper on Saturday. Wifey gets it for the coupons. I don't even watch the news anymore. It is always so biased.

I used to enjoy the NY Daily News on Sunday for the funnies and see what is going on and the TV guide magazine but now I dont buy it any more for the same reason. It was nice to sit and read and have a bagel on a quite morning after church but no more. That paper is awful now.
