The Sept issue of CC has coverage on the Anti Tour 2012 which Jeff Smith wrote. Randall got his attention on his 77 Skylark with it's efi'd BBB 455 and then schooled Smith on what he has done to the car.
I was there when it happened. Smith had been sitting near the car all day and didn't even give the car a second glance until Randal mentioned it having a Megasquirt in it. That got Smith's ears perked up and him off his ass to take a second look. They were leaning over Randal's car for an hour. Way to go Randal teaching the old teacher a few things.

i assembled my first megasquirt about one week after I read the CC article by Smith, him and his buddy did an early fuel-only box and he said it worked just fine.
I keep thinking it was in the April 2004 CC? not sure.
Congrats Randal!!

It was cool to watch and listen. I hung around Smith most of the day cause I was interested in learning a thing or two. Its when I am really quiet, when I am trying to learn stuff. That and I hang around Chad. He usually does all the talking in the room.

Congratulations Randal! That's how you end up writing a story for one of the car books.

Randle is making his way, and on his own terms, very cool to see him grow at all this.

Cool! Rebeldryver Scott brought it to my attention last night. I'm thinking of hitting a book store here in Canada to pick up a copy (or three). Yeah, Jeff was parked essentially right across from my car most of the day and it was mid-afternoon when I mentioned mine being and EFI'd Buick with a crank trigger. I think the crank trigger on a Buick 455 really intrigued him

I don't find that show funny at all. There is a fine line between retarded and genious, and his character is buried deeply in retarded territory.

I went to the local big book store here and they still had the old Car Craft on the shelf. Though I was glad to see they carried it!
