    refurbish bushings

welding the breaker bar in to strengthen the pitch stop.. I lost some bushing to the heat..not much, but added some slop. I added some 400F black rtv silicone. Here it is in the oven baking at 350. I learned when a bushing eats the odor of drying time..you just happened to get lucky on the original chemistry of the bushing getting fed. I have not tried this as baked..but got a tip to.
the pitch stop is 14 and 1/8th inches…and for not being a fifth motor mount on top of the sube engine..it sure does a lot of work. the factory version was so skinny I bent it up by hand to become an exhaust hanger.

anyone try this? I found words like "vulcanized" etc..but silicone grades are like steel, playing with carbon and half lifes. the high temp blacks that ignore gas and oil seem top the the only silicone worth anyhting..this is what I chose.

    it worked

I gave this 6-8 hours, drove around.

    stands its ground.
this needs a certain silicone, nothing by permatex.

I found some unusual combo on ebay..
"pro seal", simply black, a bit more potent..
    400F gas and oil resistant.

I learned in aviation there is silicones that can hold a 5000 gallon bladder...being us public people are mentally retarded worthless individuals, we aren't allowed to have it.

        I do.

hands in jp8 spanning 120 degrees makes an alien out of fleshed humans.

there is after thoughts to what I made there...

new bearings are all too hard. this grabs the engine to the firewall if to go urethane super bushings.
I knew they used a silicon variant. I found it in other spots too, shifter bushings...can't go hard on the ten speed with 5/8ths steel rods for linkage.

the time this car was bult they even installed "silicon tin" engine bearings. Computer happy, or was 1987 asia stocking up for the apocalypse we suffer today?

        (add some conspiracy)

I looked into this a while back , can't remember why. It may have been when I was looking for biscuits for the 460. I ended up with Falcon six cylinder mounts at 5.00 a piece so I think they were cheaper really. There are a lot of folks who have done this when presented with either a stupid expensive part or one they couldn't buy.

A tube of 3M's window weld ($10.99 at Advanced Auto)
          Caulk gun ($1.99 at Wal-Mart)

            clever.
            I may try it..
you may have guess what I want is extinct, hard to make fun of home repairs.
the urethane replacemnets are easy, one can buy cylinders and sheets, colors, density..

I wonder why the soft stuff went away. did they make bodies softer?
