DID NOT DESTROY THE CAR ?!?!
My opinion of the French just went up a notch or two. He wasn't too concerned about possibly being killed, just about the car... heh.Comment

Re: Now THIS is a crash
The one thing that strikes me about that video, other than the memories of watching it in college Live on the then "Speedvision" channel is just how much that car looks like a toy flipping through the air.
The damn thing covered some ground.
I have all the old Diamond P videos (hosted by Steve Evans) from the "...And they walked away" series.
There's a similar incident with an old IMSA Protoype...the dude has to like climb out of a tree.
Crazy stuff.

Maybe these prototypes need some NASCAR roof flaps! I cannot imagine the feeling of being in one of those things as it cartwheels through the air and there is nothing you can do about it other than hold on for the ride.Comment

At the 17 sec mark in this vid, I'm pretty sure that's Mark Webber (Australian F1 driver) flying his Mercedes kite.
