    Favorite local hangout/cruise spots?

Most all of us have them....which is yours?

    Mine?

Well, it would have to be The Suds Drive-In........350 Market Plaza, Greenwood, Indiana(south of Indy)

Cool old drive-in thats been around since 1957, been a big Saturday night cruise spot/hangout...hell, Hot Rod Power Tour made it a stop a few years back(or was it the Car Craft Anti-Tour...correct me if I'm wrong DF), missed that event due to work......that won't happen again!!!

It's hit a rough patch, been closed for a year...the Suds Hot Rod Club is taking up donations/selling shares to buy the place and secure it for future rodders/car clubs/bums who have nothing better to do on a Saturday night...LMAO....just came from there a little bit ago, have pics that I'll post when I can.

It attracts all kinds of car people.......hell, everything from T-buckets to a Lotus(no joke), Studebakers to Road Runners, Malibus to Bullitt Mustangs, all sorts....even the ricers and farm kids with diesel pickups.

Lots of parking, and it's off the main streets, so no major congestion issue for the police to bitch about.

The hardcore street racers and whatnot end up somewhere on Madison Avenue(not disclosing info to protect the guilty).....

Cooler than the traditional car show/lawn chair Grand Prix.....what's YOURS?

Any where on Woodward. Usually the Shell station, then Potbellys or the Gramophone, depending on the amount of cruisers.

we do a cruise night first saturday of the Month... nothing fancy... about 50 cars... same guys... mostly the same cars... but it's where you go to show off your new junk...

Nobody there really gets how I'm a car guy... and that's okay... you can't explain Bonneville, and if you need to then it's simply lost...

I'm looking forward to experiencing Bonneville firsthand someday......

The mere ideal of going flat out just gives me a rush.

As for the cruise spots/cruise nights, yeah, I can see where it can become stale for some.

However, it's grassroots stuff like that that keep up together.

The suds of course ! I only get down there about twice a summer though maybe I'll be able to bump it up a little this year . Washington Sq. at the N.E corner on fri . never know what will be there from cool cars to cars that would be cool if the guy thats about 55 would take the strobes out of the turn sigs to metro converts .

Since moving to NC, I haven't really found the spots here. In Ann Arbor, we used to go to the A&W in Dexter, which was small but cool. Also Kluck's Drive In in Ypsilanti. Don't know if either is active anymore. If anyone knows the crusin' spots here in Wilmington, please clue me in.

We have an ice cream place that has a cruise night, but out of the 100+ guys in the local car club, plus the other guys who aren't part of a club, myself included, about 20 cars might show. Always the same guys too. Most ever was about 30-35. Big difference from Western NY where places get a few hundred cars no problem. Inspirations in Fulton NY (Northwest of Syracuse) The Log Cabin on Rt.31 closer to Rochester have good turn outs, and always some different rides to check out.
