yes reason for selling it was from nov '10 to may '11 I was out on medical leave from work.. and needed to pay bills.. alot of stuff went
the 454ho crate/580c case back hoe/ hot tub/ tons of 70ls6 dated and correct parts..
next up are the chevelles... they(all 3)might be gone after this week end..
some times life hits ya with a hammer.. but I still have my 454 4 bolt /dart pro1's /and stroker set up/ for a 496 that one day may get in this or the monty.. I'd stab the 355 in this for this contest/fun fest. but thats got 10k+ of parts in it ('94 money)

I wish I could find a $1500 truck with $4200 motor in it. $2700 profit do that a couple times a month I would not have to work. :twocents:

it never made it in it... because of the oil ring issues with the early ones the owner didn't want it..
I traded straight up a early 1970 dated 396 that needed sleaves in 7 cyl's and bare heads that needed seats and guides that was really scrap
sold my still in the crate 454ho last march that one I got 4600.00 , I payed 4178.oo for it and gave the guy the melonized gear and moroso a body oil pan/pick up, that one payed the a few months morg. payments while I was out of work on medical leave

I am kinda slow, so you going to have to help me out on this. You traded some scrap for a crate motor that you sold for over $4k that shows you are a great horse trader but what does that have to do with a rusty chevy truck with a 350 in it?
Have you thought of running for Congress?

the 454 came with the truck.. the truck was 2000.00 obo (I talked him down to 1500.oo)but while talking to the p/o shooting the shit, he said he'd rather find a 396 or 427 to use in the 56 truck he had, I said I had a 70 396 that was 60 over and needed to be rebuilt he wanted it and I needed the truck shipped from texas, he brought the truck here and took the 396 home.. so yes the basicly scrap got the truck from texas to ma. the 454 was apart in the bead of the truck and he had the reciept for it. (shipping would've been 600.00 in 2002)
when it got here I bolted it back together but did use the oil rings that was from the unknown miles 454 that is the base for my 496..
and sold it for 4200.oo total cost my labor and a tube of rtv.. oh and it was missing 3 pushrods, forget what I payed for junkyard ones.. wasn't much a few bucks , if you think the sale of the 454 shouldn't be added I'll pull it.. from the math, thats fine.. let me know..
hehe on the congress thing, to shy(don't know if thats the right word to use) to be a public speaker.. guess I'd need to be more outgoing..

sale of the 454 is being called into question,:wtf: so I'm pulling that from the math of total cost..
mods please pull this thread(or lock it) from the 5k builds as the truck will be already over it.. without that sale, used..
thank you..
good luck everyone else
no point of going forward with this only to be labled "that guy"

Well, if you don't build the truck, instead of being "that guy" you'll be "whiney bitch". Finish the damn truck already, I don't think anyone really cares - the story behind it was all that was needed. I didn't see a WTF! flag.

I understand now (said I was slow) really sounds like you got a hell of a deal! I don't know how everyone else fells but I think you could add in the $600 for cost of shipping and keep the $4200, and if thats the case should I add in the $100 in gas money to go pick up my Capri?

How about using a "calculated" starting point of what the truck would sell for without an engine?
Just keep the BBC situation out of the $5k calculation.
Build the derned thing and have some fun doing it - that's what it's all about.

The congress thing was uncalled for I apoliges. You got a truck and some engine parts delivered for $1500 buck plus some cores. So take the $7700 and subtract the value of the cores.

thanks but really it don't matter. I spent a night going through all me paperwork for the truck, accounting for everything oil/aft/plates/etc and the b/s flag went up.. and if I stick with this contest(even if it is more about a chalange to thy self, to get more out of ever dollar) the b/s flag will be in the minds of all that read the thread..
guess this clip from a local t.v. station says it all,

Aw, c'mon Mark. What's the truck worth today if you were to buy it. Screw the receipts from the last umpteen years. What's a reasonable value to start with.
We aren't after pissing matches, quit with the poo-face, state a value and let's rock.

Mark you have enough stress in your life, let this be your relaxation. Like it was stated, this is a get off our collective cans and do something. we are not your wife so we do not need to see receipts...

this i say give the truck as it sits right now and forget the stuff you did to it over the years like oil and all that
just give ti a value of $1800 and start from scrach keeping the stuff you all ready bought as "thrown in" i think that is more then fair
i did not add in a bunch of stuff i have done tot he lebaron only the big items that increase the value liek the aftermarket suspention items and the A/N fitting sand braided steel

with new tank under the bed you need a filler.. this is a s/s filler that is a boat filler that brothers sells as a bed filler.. and it was cheaper to get it on sale from brothers than all the marine places here on this coast...the marine places think they are gold..
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv197/bowtie6872/car%20projects/P1000290.jpg

If you want to save a bit of coin, and they don't kill you on returns I think I still have the filler I took out of the ski boat - the chain is broken, but otherwise it's in good used condition - PM me if you're interested - free.
