Re: Brian Rock
Brian is still with us. He's doin' some prep for the PINK's All Out deal in September at Infineon Raceway, NorCal. We have four of us going and we plan to split the pot should any of us actually be successful. We have a nice spread of ET's from mid nines to mid tens and therefore they will, of course, pick an eleven second group.Drag Week 2006 & 2012 - Winner Street Race Big Block Naturally Aspirated - R/U 2007 Broke DW '05 and Drag Weekend '15 Coincidence?Comment

Re: Brian Rock
we have had 3 Ford dealerships around us close already, need the other one to close and we will have the county cornered. even with that we are not nearly as busy as before, but still flagging hours. But my buddies at the toyota dealer is swamped...doing engine jobs and getting hosed on them. he says they are worse than 6.0 p/strokes!Reading , Pa

Re: Brian Rock
that is weird. I've been working on a few special project race cars at a local Toyota dealership and I asked about the internet crazy "sludge problem at Toyota" and the guys there told me "that's largely a bunch of BS. It happens if you don't change your oil for 30K miles"Originally posted by ls7gtowe have had 3 Ford dealerships around us close already, need the other one to close and we will have the county cornered. even with that we are not nearly as busy as before, but still flagging hours. In a month of working there and observing issues, they had one engine that was brand new and spun a rod bearing. Other than that, no problems. This place is gigantic with 15+ bays. What gives, is this a regional thing?

Re: Brian Rock
well, pretty much any engine will seize up if you combine short trips with no oil changes. I do a lot of drivability repairs for local dealerships, and at any given time there are two or three engines of any make, dead from sludge death.Originally posted by ls7gtoIt may be , yet last year I worked the pleasanton Ca good guys and I was told about the sludge deal . But since Toyota is foreign, among this crowd naturally Toyota has "MASSIVE ENGINE PROBLEMS!!"
nevermind that the import crowd is taking junked 3.0 straight sixes and making 1000+hp on completely stock, $1200 longblocks out of the salvage yard... While Parish and friends ARE doing amazing things with stock LS-series motors, I have yet to see any domestic make 5+ hp per cubic inch at the wheels on the same pistons, rods, block and crank that came from the OEM...

Re: Brian Rock
that sludge problem was in 1998 -2001 , if I know the way toyotie works , those techs at your local dealer were in grammar school thenOriginally posted by dieselgeekthat is weird. they don't remember the corolla oil rings sticking and causing massive oil consumtion , the valve guide seals on the camry , the knocking timing belts , the V6 valve cover gaskets leaking , the camry 4 cylinders all needing water pumps bu the 30 k service , the leaking distributor o rings , the rear wheel cylinder recall on camry -NO BRAKES ! the frame rot recall on tacomas , the misarranged head gaskets on the 4 cam tacoma , the blown head gaskets on the V6 tacoma , 4 runner 2 cam , the sunroof leaks , the land cruiser fried tail lamp harness , the rav blowing transfer cases , the windows crashing down inside the door on the camry , broken window regulators
haha , could go on , I could write a book about general motors , but they are not advertising the car's biblical - storied reliability like toyota does , which , they are ok cars , but everybody makes ok cars , even ford ;DComment
