Yep spring is definatley here. Already fired up the grill and had some BBQ Chicken this week. I also cleaned out the garage (for the new car.... once i find one), loaded up the new tool box, and now im ready to go. Got some new lighting for the workbench today also. Spring is here!
Spring = yardwork. Spent the last two days in the yard. Was looking forward to getting the Chevelle out and driving it down to Jenro's this afternoon and wouldn't you know it, huge gullywasher thunderstorm. I haven't driven it in three weeks for all the rain we've had here lately. >
1967 Chevelle 300 2 Door Post. No factory options. 250 ci inline six with lump-ported head, big valves, Offy intake and 500cfm Edelbrock carb.
Last weekend's rain (4" here) helped on the draught front, but meant that I had to drag out the lawn tractor and mow the weeds. 83 here yesterday, 78 today, lows in the 30's next week. How can it be Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall all in one week?
Third weekend in a row I've had to mow the yard. My roses are getting close to blooming and my Azaleas are blooming now. Spent this afternoon de-bugging the garden and yard. Beats the hell out of sitting in the house with nothing to do.
Yup, yard work. Spread a yard of mulch yesterday and planted 10 tiny trees that came free from Arbor Day. Will have to mow next week, probably.
Anybody here enjoy planting trees? I'm trying to turn my former cornfield into a small woods. Haven't had a lot of luck so far... my shale-ground sucks.
The official Bangshift garage door guru. Just about anything can be built using garage door parts, trust me.
This year, ME said we can hire a lawn guy - YEAHHHH! I'm no good at gardening and neither is she, so we've delegated to a (hopefully) pro. BTW - has anyone tried an organic fertilizer service? We have a company here which we signed up with, but since signing on, we've had some folks tell us that their weed control, etc just doesn't work. Any experience?
