    The home stretch

One week of my first year of college remaining. Last class was today. I finally cleared up my issue with the class from last semester, and now I am off of academic probation. So, between now and next week I have two papers and three final exams. Then I am gone, at least for a short while.

One of my previous topics was about moving out and spending summer up here. Well, it has actually worked out that I will be moving into an apartment up here at the end of June to take some (hopefully) easy classes to boost my GPA. So I basically get a 50/50 split on staying at home/moving out. Should be fun.

The downside to coming up here is that I won't be able to race this summer. A bummer for sure, but I will deal with it and use the time to build a better SOHC engine and be able to actually go after a record or two next season, as well as getting the squared away that much more.

Walt, congrats man! You've survived one of the weirdest/hardest/funnest/most wacky years of your life. I think everyone that has done the college deal here will tell you, your freshman year is one you will remember vividly, but not want to relive again. The classes get more challenging but the sledding is easier from here on out.

Good call on your racing plans. I'd tell you to have a beer for us, but I know that's not your deal. Why dontcha go run like 10 miles through the woods to celebrate!

Alright Walt, congrats on finishing up what is usually the toughest year of college. The academics might challenge you more, but going forward you should be settling into your stride.

4 days. One essay. Three exams. Thanks to Blazerteam for helping with one.

So, one of the courses I have signed up for is intro to digital photography. A DSLR camera is recommended, so if anyone has a lower end DSLR that they want to upgrade from, I am willing to give you a good excuse to do so if you want to sell the old one.

I also found my apartment for up here. $400 with utilities included for the month and half, so it's not to bad. I made one significant decision with this apartment- no internet. Reason is simple. Less computer= more studying. Also less money, but I could afford that if I needed to.

Thanks to all the BS'ers that helped me keep my head up in December when I realized that I had done my darnedest to try and screw my chances at college over. I'm not out of the woods yet, but I will NOT screw this up again. Life is to short to make the same mistakes twice.
