We move around alot so it is hard to get involved in local sports (or local anything else for that matter.) But I must say Opening Day in Boston is like nothing else I've experienced before. My young and impressionable daughters are now part of the Red Sox Nation and I'm pretty sure they've never seen an inning of baseball.
They both came home from school (one First Grade the other preschool--in a church!) yesterday with pictures they drew of Wally the Green Monster (Monstah). My older daughter was singing 2 versions of "Take me out to the ball game" (one is the traditional version, the other for when they start 0-6 and the fans turn "Boo, Boo, Boo for the home team...") She also told me that the kids who stay after school while their parents work were sitting in front of the tv watching the game.
They were just going on and on about opening day in general. I told them that the Sox beat the Yanks yesterday on opening day and my daughter exclaimed, "Go Sox!"
