I finally got a photobucket album. Current Ride 87 Caprice Classic

Yes now its time to get crazy with all the pics I have stashed away. Here is a pic of my current ride. Yes it is as nice in person as in the pic. I finally got most if not all the issues sorted out with spark knock, timing, egr, vacuum leaks and such. Timing was way too advanced, lots of broken OEM vacuum plastic hard line. Plug wires were FACTORY Original. YES I said original wires....as were ALL Vacuum Lines....all with date codes. Can you say time capusle. Also found out that my engine is a later build and has a roller cam. Not all Caprices got one. Fuel friendly Highway Gears: 2:56. YES all Power items work, though the windows need some help as that arent as fast as the newer cars. right now I need both exterior mirrors as the remote operated cables are broke and the glass just flops in the housings. Radio is going very soon as the fader button crackles as soon as you touch it, tape deck is out of commision and I really dont like power antennas. Otherwise I get tons of compliments, car runs like nobodys business and I dont have any #%^#%$&%^* Airbag crap to get in my way when I start digging in and getting some mods done. List of mods to follow in short order as soon as I get more pics put up in PB and get taxes done.

    nice.

I still browse local to find one or two.

I think the 87 radio does something for a modern fit too.

Nice ride. I took my driver's exam in a Caprice like that one (my parent's) and then proceeded to hot rod it all over the place. It had some serious mechanical issue not too long after that...

One of the cars that would be on my list if I was shopping for a daily driver.

the intake, egr stuff.. its a wonder it gets far at all.

an old two barrel bare bones 70s version low hp 305 used to go until it looked like a dented tank that sees war, riding down the road crooked, some springs tougher than thers... odometer forgotten ten years prior and it keeps on going. :

my first inspiration for a caprice was this...

all the things that kill little engines today.. that cast iron kept on going. The egr over active was nothing until nuclear.

the 80s seem to have gotten a heads up to good owners, finding them low miles bcause emissions is so scary to remove is not hard to do...

Unfortunately this is the DD. I was hoping for a 2 DR 77-79 Impala/Caprice for a toy..but the truck I had developed a major fault with open fuel injectors and washed the cylinders down with gas. So here is the compromise...a DD with Potential and to get me used to big cars with puny V-8's.

A 2 DR would be cool, but I wouldn't be disappointed with what you got. For the money I spent on my DD, I could build a rockin' Impala/Caprice...instead I have a stock Silverado. If I could go back and do it over again I would have bought something different and cheaper.

Here is mine, I am using it right now as my Daily Driver. 100k and not a single problem (Other then the battery constantly going dead after non-usage). Has a complete cop car suspension and brakes on it.

Did 2 Long Hauls with her and it was awesome.

One day, when I have time and money... I'll get rid of all smog stuff and fix the engine up real nice.

                    Nice Caprice!

My mom drove an '86 Brougham for about 10 years. Those cars were great, especially on long trips.

If you are having battery problems, try this:

I don't drive my Regal often and my Tender keeps it ready to go every time.

I have one now and keep it on there when not driving. Just before, I would leave it for a week and the battery would be stone dead. If I drive it every day, no issues.

I have a 87 9c1 caprice , that the wife says has to go. I love that car, but everybody around here wants to use it for a derby car.
Had it sold for $300, got a 50 spot as a down payment, and he never came back.
So its for sale again. :'(

                            Nice.

I really liked CC's McGann's '86 coupe that was putting his 400 hp LT1 5spd into. Sadly, he had to sell it before it was together.

My co worker bought a granny fresh 33k mile 85 sedan with 4bbl 305 for a measely $1100. He has driven the snot out of it.

I had one that was the same color . IT was beat when i got it and I still put about 20 K on it and sold it. That is one tough well built car.
