Vinyl making a comeback

Records and vintage audio equipment is my winter hobby.

I've got a couple hundred albums and lots of 45's

have purchased,over the years, several (ok, many) Technics
audio pieces.

Even if the record has a little pop or crack
in the sound.......vinyl has the best sound

I'm seeing albums starting to show up at Best Buy

Yep. Just last Night I had some old Lightin' Hopkins out,along with some old Western Theme Music(Lorne Green from 'Bonanza'...),"Ringo",remember that one,Thom :D ;)?? ~J/W.

I love vinyl, but it has always been around, just got harder to find
Borders had a small selection for a while, I got U2 - The Joshua Tree on LP, and Highway 61 Revisited.
I got my brother a Lil John 33 while I was in Lynchburg

I kept a led zeppelin album, had dj scribbles on it.
my cousin was a dj, told me to keep it was a good idea.

won't hear some of it elsewhere, unless dubbed off the album.

there is a place in Tucson called Bookmans, they are a used book store. The deal in all sorts of stuff from books to magazines, cassettes and vintage vinyl. I flip thru the records all the time. I have a pretty big selection of 45's but rarely get a change to listen to them.
There is another place called Zia that has a nice collection of used and new vinyl...I visit there often too.

There is a place here called "Vintage Vinyl" they have lots of 45's as well as a vast selection of lp's. My collection isn't very big but I love em all and play them when I have the time.
My fav's are the few 45's I have on colored vinyl (red, yellow, blue, etc) anyone else have some?

had some colored vintage stuff from when I was a kid, inherited them form an uncle or something...they didn't make it.
I do have an american graffiti sound track on LP my old man gave me when I was about 6 or 7.

Ameoba Records Hollywood. Huge vinyl store.

Vinyl sounds better, fuller and richer sound. All the dtiuff they transferred to digital came out sounding tinny and annoying.

I remember records that came on the back of cereal boxes. Like gettin' a free download today, I guess.

Thom, we have a Technics SL 1015 turntable that weighs like a box of bricks and will track straight through the most scratched-up record. After scoring that, I went on a Salvation Army buying binge and now have about twelve feet of stuffed record shelving. Ain't done yet. It's been great to finally get all the music I couldn't afford as a kid, for fifty cents an album.

We also have two decent wire recorders from the fifties. I'm not sure if music was ever sold on wire, but it must have been. All our wire spools are old personal recordings of people's.

I've heard Lorne Green's Ringo but it was on the Dr. Demento show on KROQ-LA. That guy ruled.
