So I got a new pup! and a cat? So here's the story....

So, last Monday I was driving along and noticed something out of place...as I was driving along, a Chrysler 300 was approaching in the opposite lane. The car was black, with a blacked out grill, rims, windows and so on...but right in the middle of the grill was something white. I says to myself, it be a shopping bag. then the shopping bag moved. I realized that it was a cat, so I flagged the car down and after 20 minutes of pulling of body parts in the middle of the road I saved the kitty. The whole time she did not hiss, scratch or even try to run. I drove her to my house and she sat on my lap the whole way. She has since become like a member of the family and has to be, without doubt the coolest cat ever.

    Meet Kit-Kat.

We also got a new pup, since my Sheltie died our golden has been worse than ever, super skittish, not social, very submissive. I was going to get rid of her because I really cannot tolerate that kind of dog and my dislike was growing to hatred. We took her to a pet store and there were a lot of animals there and she really came out of her shell. The wife thought it would be a good idea to get another dog. I agreed and decided that if she didn't change we would at least keep the pup and maybe the golden retriever rescue in Phx could find her a more suitable home.

The wife named him Tatum, i think it is stupid..so I call him Tate or T...it bugs her..and I dont care..nothing worse than a dog with a dumb name
T is a European Golden..hence the light coloration...and so far has really brought the other dog out of her shell.

On an interesting note...the new cat and the new pup play together, wrestle and there is no claws or hissing from the cat....ain't never seen nothin' like it.

That kitty cat looks just almost exactly like Frecklee, the Weeville cat, so that HAS to be a cool cat!

And in every household in the world, pet stories abound. I get up so early, I beat Sue Unit out of bed, and down the stairs we three come (me, Frecklee and Spankie the Dog). Thump, thump, thump.

Frecklee is deaf, and Spankie can't see. We're quite the team in the morning. Frecklee helps me shower and get dressed. He's under-foot in the bathroom. Spankie is right there waiting at the top of the stairs because his whole life is FOOD. Those old BACON BACON BACON dog treat commercials have nothing on Spankie. He's a food fanatic. But he can't see past the end of his nose.

So this morning Spankie didn't put his face in the food dish fast enough. There's Frecklee rattling Spank's dry food around, and he wasn't just playing with it, he ate a belly full before Spankie finally realized, duhhhh maybe Dudy put some food in my dish, guess I'll go sniff and find out (cause I sure can't SEE)."

Furry kids. Good score on the cat Joe! Gosh she looks like Frecklee. Gotta be a good cat.

this is my second calico..I had Siamese, long haired tabby's, shot haired tabby's and Persians...the Calico is by far my favorite breed very friendly and playful.

The pup is gonna be a monster..you should see his paws...I am guessing at a minimum 90 pounds...and these guys have heads like a 16 pound bowling ball...

Joe, when I called Tracy and Cam into the computer room to see your new family members they both went "Aaaaaaaaa" so I guess they're both keepers lol.

We're not cat people but, KitKat is a cutie, and thats so nice to hear the old dawg has loosened out with the new pup around. We have two Australian cattle dogs, 3yrs. old, brothers from the same litter, and thats my biggest fear, something happening to one of them leaving the other alone in the world.

Great looking family additions - the story of the cat - wow - seems he may have already used up one of his 9 lives?

Puppie-hood can certainly be a frustrating time -- it takes patience, I'm sure you'll have that pup well trained in short order.

We found our shepherd a new home a bit over a month ago - we miss her, but - it was the right thing to do - but every time I see a puppy - I have to be careful - they're just too damned cute!

Best of luck with the new adventure.

                        lucky cat.
seeing a pet broken spirited sucks.. glad you did not give up and got it a friend.

my last dog, outgrew his wife and all his kids. also a lab. a wise mans face towards the end. Chose to remeber me as his 15 year old friend into my twenties. would even hurt himself towards the end when he saw me coming, trying to reel in the years.. (he had bad hips).

the cats local seem to derivitives of the norwegian forest cats..the rest are just sprites of discontent... not many like discontent pets. Starting with their own environment in the right place is a good idea.

this pet babble, I still want one..might have to be a cat. I'd still get the hairy large colorful norwegian looking one again anytime(the only cat I liked) :D

fifth row down in the link (pictures) is a twin to the one I had. only a few streets over from my current address, back in 1993. Today, I look out occasionally, and swear I see it (he went wild in the city after I wrecked in a crash and lost my rental). I still ponder it knowing who I am...and finding me. (it likes my car out of a long line of them) ???
stranger stories than that are pet related.

Cute kitty. Lucky kitty. Like mine.

Great looking doggy too. I don't own one because of my irratic work schedule. I just play with all the dogs that owners walk by in the neighborhood. My buddy is Duece, a monster of a Pitbull. He is eleven and a real sweety. Doesn't move too good anymore. Another is a eight month old Italian Mastiff. Another monster.

Glad your old dog is happy with new friend.
