Gosh, to do that (half speed) and set it to video....well, first I don't have the knowhow or hardware. But first you have to THINK of that. Boxer, seeya at the Academy Awards. Hope I at least get a mention for Best Soundtrack, though I doubt it..

Thanks Dan! It was a spur-of-the-moment audacity. Maybe 20-something years ago I was living by myself and for some uknown reason I got a telephone answering machine for my one-bedroom apartment, one of the cassette things that were real cutting edge technology back then. I recorded Jingle Bells, same thing, for the outgoing message, like I thought anybody was ever going to call and leave me a message anyhow.

Yesterday evening I thought of that and there ya go, with a BangShift message.

But I can't stop watching Boxer's video with the song played half-speed. It's perfect. You're trucking in the snow, you're tired, it's Christmas, and just wanna get to somewhere....it's perfect. I can't get over it. It's perfect. I accidentally recorded the soundtrack, sort of, but that short video is a work of art. I mean it.

I really liiked the sound, and thought it was fast. I do that all the time to music...
great tune. I assume that metal guitar has something to do with it.

No Boxer, that was the Erlewine Lazer played through a cheap-ass 10-watt Randall amp with some distortion and reverb added at the knobs.

Unit and I are talking about this - this is FUN! How about if I recorded a whole collection of non-religious Christmas songs, full-length versions of every song, on slide guitar? Raising hell with effects and fill instruments and deviant interpretation and stuff?

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Oh, Christmas Tree (done a short mockery of that one here)

Not that any of it would be in any way listenable, but that would be fun! I may be on a whole new mission for next year's holiday season. Yeah.....that is do-able....

Unit offered this one up, a fave from her childhood. I grew up in the South, Unit grew up in YankeeLand. I had never ever heard this song, or heard OF it until tonight. I don't think I can do anything with it...
