Re: Bullets, Fingers Fly at Aussie Drag Strip During Crazy Biker Brawl
Biker shenanigans aside, I'm seriously considering moving to Australia.
Apparently, there's a COOL government there, way cooler than ours. THEIR government OWNS a freaking dragstrip. Ours just shuts 'em down. Or, more accurately, lame-ass local governments do. And then everyone complains about street racing related crap.
*&^%$#@!
End rant.Yes, I'm a CarJunkie... How many times would YOU rebuild the same engine before getting a crate motor?

"Here we thought that North America had a handle on the violent Harley gang scene. We were way wrong."
Well, D'UH! Apparently you haven't heard of a little film called, "Mad Max". Understandable, though; it only came out in 1979! (Were any of you even born yet?!)

I disagree, they'll crush your car for doing a burnout from what I've read. It seems to me that they have a much stricter government than we do. I'd have to do some research to find the articles, but I remember one being about their 'anti-hoon laws' as they called them.Originally posted by Caveman TonyBiker shenanigans aside, I'm seriously considering moving to Australia.

Re: Bullets, Fingers Fly at Aussie Drag Strip During Crazy Biker Brawl
Nah, the Aussie gov't is going Nanny State.
The Biker, or "Bikie" wars there are legendary for their violence, going back several decades. The culture and criminal aspect of it all is similar to what it is/was here, but with a distinctly psycho Australian flavor.
I have a great friend who is Australian, and worked here in their embassy in Washington for over ten years. He absolutely loved the USA, and living here, and he keep taking transfers and duty changes of whatever sort that would keep him physically in the US.
Eventually though, he had to return. It was probably just as difficult on his wife, who had adopted Trap Shooting and riding motorcycles as two of her pet hobbies while they lived here. Her guns and bike are someplace safe collecting dust in the event they decide to emigrate someday and return to the US. I told them to let me know, and I will have them stuff a Holden Commodore in a seatainer for me for the trip over ;)
But yeah, they say the Aussie government sucks, and they both work for it.Comment
