Maybe just the opposite. The hardest part is done, someone busted through the door, now the contest gets to become about who can live in that neighborhood, not just visit once a week. (please don't take that as me knocking what Larry did, I am NOT...I think it is a truly significant moment in drag racing history to be honest).
This only means good things for next year. Insane things, but good things.
If you look at a lot of drag racing history there is always a period of "almost but not quite" followed by a torrent of performance until the next plateau is reached. It is the spaces between the plateaus that are riveting.
"Incredible" is what I thought when I read the news on the blog. To think that someone could have a well sorted machine run 1,000 miles and racing everyday... well I am just in awe. Too cool. Not a street car, huh? :
