Well John, maybe you were meant to join us on the Western Scenic Tour? At least come out to Vegas for a couple of days. Maybe you can win some money, or be just like me and lose some like I did today. Just got back about 4:30 this afternoon.

Now, how are we going to know if you got a good price? Each region is priced differently. I know with today's economy, it's a buyer's market and there are a lot of homes going into foreclosure. If you got a really good deal, you may be starting a land run. lol.

They say it is a buyers market now, with all these forclosers going on.

I think we are in for at least two years of tough times and depending on who gets into the White House in November, it may last longer than that !!

To be honest with ya Steve, I believe whoever gets in the White House, we are in for a few years of rough times. However, if we all can just hang on, things should get better. I hope. :-\

Not to hijack John's thread much further, but yesterday I read a report on what started all this. Very interesting facts about how the major lenders jumped into the subprime market with both feet and are now paying the price. Same reading said we are in for another 18-36 months of foreclosures and a tightening of the lender market. I certainly feel sorry for those innocent buyers that have been caught up in this. Now back to well wishes for John!

Cheaps I don't want to start a fight but the only "innocents" in this whole mess will be the people that end up bailing the others out (those will be us good honest tax paying citizens). Those KINKO loans were desired by the people that took them. They were speculating on the market continuing to expand at unprecedented rates (does anyone remember 1929?). So now we are all going to pay for the fun others have had.

For John (and others) it clearly is a time to buy as there seems to be LOTS of good deals out their right now.

The good deals are going to get better and better for those who can wait.
There will also be a lot of Hot Rods coming out of the barns for sale too !!
Bad for them, good for us.

I agree w/ DOUG, and STEVE, and CHEAPS.........How's that for being a politician?

Even BUSH is aditting things aren't as good as he was leading us to believe. big money will look for a bailout by taxpayers, like the S&L's did.

I have already seen many cars for sale and their prices are being reduced drastically!

REAL ESTATE MARKET IN MANY STATES IS BAD!

POSITIONING IS IMPORTANT NOW!

The innocent ones I was talking about are all those people that could get into homeownership by an initially low interest rate. All the major banks jumped on the bandwagon here and now those low rates have skyrocketed. I personally know quite a few people that got caught up in this and now have had their dreams crushed as well as their credit. Yes, we all will be involved in correcting this mess know matter who ends up in the White House. By no means was I referring to the lenders as "innocent", I feel their greed will be the downfall of all of us. >:(

Now back to our regularly scheduled programing. ;)

I'm sorry you will miss the tour also. It is a good time to buy a house. I think the next year or so will be a very good time to add another car also if you need one. Prices will be coming down. It's already started.

I think john got scared when I told him I'd put my formula firebird up against his camaro for pinks. Is that right John? Just kidding, we had a great time with he and Val last year. I look forward to cruising with you again John. Maybe next year if not at the Western Scenic Tour.

John,
Sorry about the house brother, but there will be a lot of other opportunities coming up sooner than you think. Around here, houses, cars and boats for sale are coming out of the woodwork.

March 29th, 2008, 08:22 AM
Sorry to hear about the house, but as I'm always told, things happen for a reason, there will be plenty of more chances. The next house you find might be even a better deal than the first.

No big deal about the house they are new ones on the market every day. Still ging to miss the tour though. the money that Id spend on the tour I'm going to use to finish off some bills, this way it puts me in a better position on homes and betters house also.
