1st car in in 1973, a '65 Buick Skylark, 2 Dr hardtop, 300 CID V8, 2 sp PG, bucket seats, column shift.....nice car but boy did it start/keep rusting.......by 1978 the floors, trunk etc were gone.

2nd car a '71 Pontiac LeMans Sport with the Endura styling option (read GTO nose and hood). another nice car. 350 w/TH350 A/C buckets, console etc. Should have kept it, just got bored after 6 years with it. Sold it to a kid who wrecked it with 2 months, bent the frame.

"67 Skylark Deluxe in Avacado Green on a Black bench interior. Had a 300-2 and an ST300 2spd switch pitch. Was great fun but need quarter work and a new rear body mount on the frame so I sold it and went back to Rivieras.

this is no doubt a common one for many.
the "A" turned to "G" in 1982...and then the "A" became a front wheel drive, in the world of GM make believe..

GM mid-sizes can sure suck when they suck, and shine when they shine. My parents' '72 Chevelle, which I learned to drive in, could not do a 35mph corner at 30 although it was a great car otherwise.

My all-time favorite car is still my '70 El Camino SS-396 I built from the remnants of another beat-to-crap '70 SS in '87. It finally needs a new motor but was my fun car and workhorse for 20 years. It did nearly everything well, including haul stuff, tho' it don't launch at the strip. 402 BB/Richmond 5spd/2.73 posi, 12" 4-wheel discs, swaybars, fat shocks, etc...dialed in like what you can do when you know a car that well, it was a really sweet driver.

So anyhow I started with a '68 El Camino back when and now have four others; '64 (project), '70 SS, '78 SS and a '79 which will turn into a parts car to back the '78. There was also a '67 Buick Skylark for a short while.

Back in the mid 70's bought my cousin's 65 2 door Chevelle hard top. It had a 283 2 bbl with 3 on the tree. Swapped in a low mileage 71 350 2 bbl. Installed a "151" Vette cam, 4 bbl and a T10 from a '58 Vette along with headers. Fun car but the rust was taking over
