If I asked about Mustangs, I gotta ask about Camaros!

Me:

1988 IROC-Z TPI 350 - 700R4 -- bought the car my senior year of high school. Drove the crap out of it for several years (was my "summer car" with a 1980 Chevy truck as my "winter beater") -- Bolt ons, ran low-sih 14's. Road tripped it all over the US.

1984 Firebird drag car -- Built with three friend in high school for 300 bucks a piece. 2.8V6 car that we tore apart, stuck a mongrel 350 in, and ran high 13s with all summer long. Cheap speed project inspired by the likes of DF/Matt King/ and the group of crazies that were on top of Car Craft during my high school years.

My current '69...

Back in the '80s I had a '76 LT with a 350/auto..... not a bad car but it rattled and squeaked a lot. I sold it to buy a Toyota 4X4 truck when they were popular.

Ive had tons of them..only 2 gen though.A black 76 Camaro with a warmed over 350..very rusty..bought cheap..it was later retored wioth another body.



Here we are on a hunting trip..



And then i bought this 74 as a parts car,but in a gearheads way..i found out that i wanted to do a trans am racer out of it..dont know why it didnt hapeen..i bought all parts for converting it to a 72 RS..and bought a lot of parts..here seen on its way to get the body sandblasted.



I had another 76 too at a time,but it had no papers..(Title).

I ended up with this 72 Formula 400 too,after a friend died in a accident.Sold,after i found out that i had too many projects.

3 of'em, all 3rd-gens.

1) 1984 Z28...red, base-mode, t-tops,bone-stock. Wrecked it, discovered it had been in a violent roll-over prior to my owning it...obscenely thick Bondo(as much as 3/4" in some areas).

2) 1984 Z28...red, 5.0 H.O., auto, t-tops....this was a fun car. pulled the engine, stabbed a new cam and some other goodies....cam timing ws off, sat and ended up crushing the car. Engine is still around.

3) 1985 Z28...black, t-tops, auto.......this is the current car that most long-termers around here are familiar with.

69 350/4 speed convertible in 71 in high school--68 327 3 spd as well in 72, none since-discovered Buick torque and Olds W power the rest was history, until recently. I do still lust ofr an LS1 6 sped car though and may get one before it is all over. Got my head buried in my new repair shop this year for the time being so the Fairlane is on the back burner....

i almost have to say way too many of them. My current daily beater is a 90 t-top formula 305 tpi auto, my toy is a 82 z28 with a healthy 454 in it. another 82 z that I should havenever even built. An 86 base model 2.8 auto that looked like it just left the showroom. i couldn't keep a trans in this car for long though. I reached the point of being able to swap it out in just over 1 hour.3 other 82 z28s parts cars, a 83 firebird with a 350 ran good blew up swapped for a 70 cutlass my buddy couldn't bring himself to pull the olds out of it to put his chevy 350 in. 86 trans am,ran good sold for a quick profit. 92 25th anniversary rs camaro, ran great showed up on my doorstep on memorial day, no title or floors! became parts donor.

The first one I drove was my sister's 67 camaro with a 6 and 3 on the tree, it buned more oil than gas(my sister wasn't too keen on maintenance). Then I got a 67 400 Firebird, rusty but quick. After that, a 77 Z28 4 speed. Then later, a 2001 Z28. I have always liked F bodies and would definately not be opposed to owning another. I have thought it would be cool to find my 77 z that I sold in Colorado, and do an IROC type build on it. Of course, that would take money, money I will be using for hospital bills.

I have never owned a Camaro or Firebird. I have also never owned a Mustang as was asked in another thread.

I have had 11 Firebirds, currently I have 10. I sold a 77 Trans Am in Germany to get the much less rusty 79 Formula WS6.

1974 Formula 350
1977 Formula 350 with the Bluebird package
1979 Formula 301 4 speed now as a 700hp BPG 467
1998 Formula LS1 auto 2.73 gears - my economy car

1979 Trans Am 10th Anniversary 403
1979 Trans Am SE 403
1979 Trans Am 403 was red is now yellow
1979 Trans Am WS6 403 parts car

I have also had a 72 Mustang coupe, 82 Mustang with a 6, and a 71 Fastback that is currently a bare shell in the shop next to the 65 GTO.

I have never owned a Camaro and have no intentions to own one. Also never owned a 3rd gen, they were crap when new and 20 years hasnt helped them any.

Picked up a '69 Z/28 in 1970 from a guy going into the service; put some money into the motor and rear end....kept it as a 302, ran a best of 11.41/120 mph....sold it in 1973 (car and extra parts) for $1500 ???......picked up another just like it in '98, had body and engine restored....put the 302 and Muncie in garage, now running a 383 w/5 spd Tremec.....will do the Power Tour long haul (again) this year.......rexx

86' TA 305 5-speed......second car

95' firebird formula hardtop 6-speed.....best car I have ever owned.
