One man's "private museum" (TONS OF PICS)

This past Saturday my wife and I had the pleasure of going to

check out a "friend of a friend's collection". We had heard a lot

about it, but had no idea what to expect. I'll leave details

(location, etc..) out of this picture story, but let me tell you,

from the second we crossed the threshhold into the driveway until

the second we drove out, my jaw was dropped.. I had never seen

bushes sculped perfectly into farm animals. Every detail of the

grounds were perfect. And that was just the beginning. Walking

into this man's garage, we see him sitting there taking a break

from working on a project (that was up on a center lift hydraulic

lift). It's something I'll have more pictures of some time soon.

Anyways, the words "Well, take them on the tour" were muttered and

off we went... Stepping through the doors into a part of history I

never thought I'd see in person.

I didn't know where to begin. I felt like a little kid walking

into one of the coolest places I had ever seen... I'll save the

shots of the toys, memorabilia and collectibles until the end..

The cars in this collection are the most amazing things. There

wasn't a flaw to be found. NOTHING was out of place and you want

to talk about rare? This was it... Lincoln heaven!!! The best

part? All were hooked up to Battery Tenders and all could be fired

right over and driven down the street.

I'm not going to caption every one of these pictures.. There isn't

enough time.. But I hope you can get an idea of the depth of the

magic and history this man posseses. A large part of this

collection was restored by Chuck & Blair over the years.

    My personal favorite:

Due to reasons unknown to me I didn't get any shots of this entire

car... Probably because it was so gorgeous I didn't know where to

start.. 24K Gold outlined interior... emblems... hood release...

Moving on to the meat of the toys and collectibles.. Chuck has

restored a tremendous amount of these items. The detail, paint

quality and TIME that went into these made me leave thanking God

that this man had anything to do with my car..

Again, I won't caption every one of these.. I can't... but this

one stood out. It's an old pedal car mounted to the base from a

barber shop chair that Chuck found on someone's sidewalk one day

(out for the trash). He restored this from head to toe!

And, I saved the best for last!!

I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into the past as much as I did... It truely was a magical day and a "field trip" I'll never forget.. I hope to go back some day when the sun is shining so that I can get some good shots of the cars outside.

                nice looking stuff.

the photo with state of maine products on the rail car triggered a thought recently of the railroad here in trouble..asking for gov't intervention. The last real business in maine to use the sheer scale of what a railroad can do , the lumber, is what carries it. I never thought (as I have gone to all the mills with my dad trucking) that the railroad would ever need anything.

That little model railroad car may be worth more in the future... :

still alot less than those cars. :o

what a great collection. It's look familiar like I've read about or saw it on some tv show.

That creepy manikin riding shot gun in that one car is one I used to see advertised in Air Mall catalogs on planes. They would say it's for safety when driving in the ad, but mostly it was sold to be able to drive in carpool lanes.
