not looking for sympathy, I know there are many more out there in worse shape...
I changed jobs 2 months ago, left a steady company that I had been with for almost 8 years with good pay etc. to work for a company closer to home..... Needless to say, took a slight pay cut, but it was more than made up for in extra time (ie. 1 hour less commute each direction)
Anyhow, 2 months after taking a leap of faith to work for a guy that had been a customer of mine for 5 years, he tells me today that I am being laid off, and that he will be letting 2 of the other 3 people that work for him go as well...... Evidently not on near as solid ground financially as I was told before making the move. I guess that because I was by far the youngest there (30 soon) and made more than anyone else I was the easiest to send out the door first, but it still sucks.
I haven't been without a full time gig since I was 14, I guess I'll get to go file for EI that I have been paying into for all these years and figure out what the f*$# to do next....
Now back to my beer.....
