a freind and I are looking for one of these-(see photo)- lou olyenik (sp?) was a pro stock racer from detroit in the early 70s and built a number of these trucks for racers from 73-86 or so when 5th wheel/enclosed trailers became popular. they were generally built on one ton cab and chassis from dodge, ford or gm. The oleyenik body factory was right dwon the street from the big 3, so you could order up you c/c from your local dealer and get it sent over to lou for whatever body and options you wanted from him. they also generally were completely under braked/tired/suspended for what guys did with them, leading to the much heavier trucks we see used today. I have a freind in the east who has one but doesnt want to sell it. these pics are from an ebay listing in december of last year, i beleive. crew cab not needed, but will consider all.

well, seek and ye shall receive-i guess-in the past 3 days the grumpy jenkins c65 olyenik hauler popped back up at a much lower price than previously asked, and now the boyd coddington kenworth hauler is on ebay as well for a pretty good price-unfortunately we are looking for a one ton based truck because thats all I have room to park!! I cant believe that jenkins hauler isn't already part of the carjunkietv shop!!

found a big chassis/short body (24 foot) hauler right in my backyard! good condition, right price, looking forward to using it, not looking forward to filling the fuel tanks (and emptying them)

61 409 impala DOES NOT FIT---but

http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh252/stage1scott/P1010723.jpg

my Buick fits perfectly!! hauled that impala from DAS in Gardena saturday, I was a little worried about the hill on the 405 over to the valley. went up that hill in 10th (5th/hi range) at half throttle at 55 mph, had to run the center lane to avoid the slow stuff in the 2 right lanes, got 8 mpg overall. not as worried as I was, gonna work out good. Medium duty truck doesn't have all the suspension and brake shortcomings the one tons do, this thing rocks!!
