Cannot find correct cancelling cam, its for a 1966 impala ss tilt/telescoping column. tried the Impala Bobs actually bought the one for tilts no good, year one, summit. could it be the same as early cadillacs or corvettes? if anyone has info would appreciate it, do not expect to make it for Power tour, too much work, not enough time. but spring is soon to be in the air! may get motivated even if i have to put my hand out the window to signal!

Re: Need help finding cancelling cam
I sure hope someone can help this fella- I told him to post up here to try and get an answer.
Hey - we got a new member so welcome aboard. I will ask my neighbor if I see him tonight, he's got several Impy's.
Weren't some other models optioned with the telescoping wheel? Might be the same parts used. I will look at the Chevy TV Commercial's Blog again - there was one on there.

Re: Need help finding cancelling cam
66 was the first year offered for the impala from what i have read. it seems 65-67 share alot of common parts, never guessed it would be this difficult to find? really appreciate the help, as well as the tip to this forum. Grampa Blue as my kids call it will be a work in progress and resources like these can be priceless.Comment

Re: Need help finding cancelling cam
Your best bet at this point would be to look in the latest Hemmings....LOST of Guy'z with N.O.S. stuff/odds-n-ends in there for SURE. Good luck! ~J/W.Comment

Do you have a picture of what it looks like? I know what mine looks like, but those tilt/telescopic columns had different things.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

Re: Need help finding cancelling cam
My chevy parts book does not list it. The book was printed in 1983 so it was probably discontinued by then.
I might have one from a 65 caddy, possibly....
but I second the recommendation to look at vette suppliers.

Re: Need help finding cancelling cam
Those 1965 Chevy TV ads only mentioned Corvairs and Corvettes as having the telesoping wheels, they must have added them in Impala's in 66 like you said. You got a good mystery to solve for sure.
Here's another resouce (maybe) call Bill Zellner (402) 332-3639 (Gretna, Nebraska) he specailizes in 1961-1963 Impalas but has lots or odd year orphans too. He must have 400-500 cars on his property but doesn't do internet stuff, old school.
Rebel - you ever hear of this fella ?Phil / OmahaComment

The 66 Imp telescopic wheel has a specific steering wheel with the center horn button that has edges all the way around. It's a knob. Unscrew it to loosen the wheel and pull up or down. Then tighten it back. Was not available earlier than that on Imps. Maybe Caddys had them earlier. Not sure.
