Went and looked at a house today....

We're thinking about buying a second home for a while. We went and looked at this today. It's in Wyoming county, PA. I especially like the barn...who cars about the house? It sits on 3.5 acres along with natural gas lease. The elderly couple that live there now are kinda pack rats. There's 4 horse stalls in the basement of the barn as well.












Yes, that's an 8N Ford tractor that I would like to get with the house but the flat fender Jeep isn't for sale...his son in SC has dibs on it

I made an offer on a little house in pittsburg ks
yesterday, two bed room and a two car garage
I might get out of the trailer park after 38 years.
I have never owned a regular house, that one looks
like 2 or 3 time bigger than the one im trying to buy
it looks real nice!!!

We're not rich but luckily have a lot of equity in our house. We've had our house for a long time and real estate values have shot into the stratosphere here in Bergen county, NJ over the years even though our house has probably lost close to 80K from the peak of crazyness. In addition we went to re finance last week and it looks like we'll be getting 3.75% fixed rate line of credit for a $99 processing fee.

If we decide to sell our house in NJ down the road, we'll clear a nice chunk of change.

You're doing good Husk! We've been sitting here watching the value of our house go DOWN since we bought it two years ago. Not a crash, but it's down.

I reckon everybody except us Weevillians have known forever about zillow.com. We didn't know about the site until last year when we learned about it from Sue Unit's cousin who came to visit for a day. Rumor has it that the appraisers go to zillow.com to see what it says, and then they come out to appraise, that's what they appraise if nothing drastic is wrong with the house. That's a benchmark. It takes the work out of it for the appraiser. It's a very cool tool.

Very nice!
I'm guessing the house has mostly wet plaster walls and hardwood floors by the looks of the design from the outside.

Would this be a weekend getaway for you?

Perhaps a place you'd retire to eventually?

Through my travels around the US, I've noticed that Pennsylvania seems to have biggest, coolest barns around. Almost to the point of it was some kind of competition to have the best barn around.

the only problem is commute to good jobs in this area
