      I am interested to see how well they (NHRA) pull this off...

      I have been to zMax and I have two items of concern that I am wondering how they are going to handle.

      First, when I was there, the racing surface left a LOT to be desired. I mean A LOT! Even the slow cars could not hook up and the boosted cars were having trouble getting ahold of the surface at 600+ feet. It was slick all the way down the track. Bruton is gonna have to break out the checkbook and make all 4 lanes competitive.

      Second, how in the world are they going to negotiate all the pro classes through the staging lanes? For those of you who have been there, you know what I am talking about. For those who have not, picture this:

      5 staging lanes (who in their right mind designs a drag strip with an odd number of staging lanes?) on the left side of the drag strip where the pros pit. These lanes are narrow and short. Maybe, just MAYBE you can get 4 pairs of top fuel cars in the staging lanes at one time between the cotton candy sales and the pedestrian crosswalk.

      I do not in any way want to take away from what this place is. The amenities are incredible, the view is spectacular and this place just oozes high tech, but man... when you gotta work in the staging lanes pairing up cars and there is no room to put a field of 32 Comp eliminator cars or 16 T/F Funny Cars, you gotta scratch your head and wonder what the hell they were thinking when they designed the place.

          may be cool to some....but not my cup of tea...

              I like the idea of four lanes.. but
              only 2 cars at a time.. when there is an issue on the track be it track clean up.. or crash clean up..
              you could run cars down the other two lanes..
              keeping the show moving.. as thats why live drag racing isn't on tv to much down time for clean up..
              that would make sense...
              or.. at crouded week end races.. I can see time trials being done this way.. to get more runs in..
              but a national show.. ??
              I'm sure it look great on camera.. but in person... it'll be hard to see all 4 cars run,
