well the fastest that i know of is the bugatti veyron (sp) - now if its the quickest, thats a whole other story

In terms of top speed, its the SSC Ultimate Aero at 257mph. It has 1200hp and is built in the US. But the Europeans will never classify it as a production car. The Veyron is limited electronically to 253mph.

Some cars came from the factory with aluminum body panels and fenders, windows that where pulled up with seatbelt straps back in the hay day. So what era are we looking at or is it just in general?

The Cobra back in its day would kick the shit out of anyone that stepped up to the plate. Now days it cant touch some of these supercars that are well over 200mph.
But you have to love the 427. In the Saleen S7 it has a top speed of 248mph. And that was Five years ago.

cobra is still the fastest..
no one has a faster 0-100-0 car..

I love the Cobra as much as the next guy and would owen one over any supercar but it's still not the fastest 0-100-0.
Cobra does it in 12.4
Bugatti Veyron 9.90

math of it all baffles the answer.

fuel? 87 octane example...fuel can only do so much. then its life and death crazy more man than machine...power to weight, gearing quick or tall.

it could be anything to answer these questions....

you got <1.8 liter beetles air cooled in the 8 seconds, and 5 times the displacement doing similar.

Hint: go for the math knowledge, answer you own question silently, and carry a big...

Muchas I hate to say it, the Cobra isn't the fastest, or quickest.
I don't know right off hand what is, but many cars beat the Cobra nowadays.

Well one of those is easy to answer. Unless you consider the Shelby treatment aftermarket, the 2010 GT500 is the fastest pony car. If do call the shelby stuff aftermarket, the 2010 Camaro SS is the fastest. Muscle car, I am not even going to get into what you want to call a muscle car, but IMO would probably be the 2004 GTO or the G8.
