A "Galaxy" is now a "Windstar"? Or is that the other way around. I'm actually OK with minivans (excellent appliance) but it seems WRONG to put that great old name on it.

Oops, I'm sorry. The rear doors hinge so it's a "crossover". Who are they trying to kid? They've jumped thru hoops for years to avoid the term "Station Wagon". Go figger.

the galaxy was a people mover, this is a people mover....i don't think it looks that bad. and if this is what it takes to get Ford to offer us 412hp mustangs and rapter trucks, then i'm ok with it.

Ford has been using that name for years on a minivanish type vehicle in Europe. Anyways, wasn't the real Galaxy spelled Galaxie?

Yeah, Galaxie is the name of the awesome 60's cars here, Galaxy is the European name. Hope it stays there, I don't know how you could design a more "vanilla" looking car than that...

is it really any worse than the dessimation GM did to NOVA?

as far as I know - there are no plans to bring said "people mover" to the USA...

so far - we've given up on the minivan at Ford - it's MKT or Flex if you want FWD platform with three rows of seating.

Personally - I think they should have kept the rear sliding doors on the flex - I think that would have kept some of the minivan buyers in our stable - auto open close / slide doors are tough to beat when carrying a baby, car seat, groceries, etc. not to mention the prevention of door dings on the car parked next to it in the garage.

We liked our Windstar. It replaced Nigel, ME's Colony Park (I think it was - big Merc anyhow) wagon - he was a wonderful old boat.
