Why is buying parts for the Camaro so much fun???

Ok, so why is it that buying parts for a car that gets driven no where near enough, with money that I dont have, for parts that it dosent need other than to look better, make me smile? Hell I have a few bills I should be paying instead. Today I bought the rear package tray and pad, front spoiler and braces and the cardboard insulator that goes between the trunk and backseat for the 69 Camaro.

Anyone else have this issue or is it just me?

I can't remember who's it is, but somebody's sig on here says
"Definition of a drag racer: Somebody who spends money they don't have, on parts they don't need, to impress people they don't know"
I do the same thing when I have a little extra money
Rumors of my demise by rollover have been greatly exaggerated.

          You're not alone.

I think it's something we can do to "keep the dream alive" and stay committed to it, and make some progress - which makes us feel better - even though we are just buying parts - sometimes it's all the time we have to devote to a project, so - we feel better about accomplishing something toward our goal of cruising in something more badderasser than we currently have....

I hope that sortof makes sense.
There's always something new to learn.

What's even better is when you have multiple project cars, and the one FURTHEST down on the priority list is the one you're getting parts for. Stuff that will set for a year or more, when I really needed to buy something for the DD instead. ;D ;D

OR end up spending money & time to customise and upgrade what was suppose to be the "Parts Chaser" or "Beater" driver while you fixed the main project.

Now the everyday driver has nicer wheels and tires, killer stereo, and might get a custom paint job soon................

Not necessarilly, there are others in other lands, "me", suffer the same "need" for parts.
I just bought an aluminum 2" open spacer, don?t need it car runs fine, BUT I have to try things out.
