Re: The Story of a Chevelle and A Demolished Dealership
My 79 half ton was bought new by my wifes grandfather as his retirement vehicle after selling cars for 30 some odd years. I still have the original key chain from Summerfield Chevrolet where he worked. I am in the process of restoring the truck now. I only have a few more parts to get and then It is time to pull it out of the barn and start on her.Coming at you live from the birthplace of GM,Flint,Mi. Where your car is worth more than the property it's parked on. -
Re: The Story of a Chevelle and A Demolished Dealership
My car (73 Z/28) originally came from a dealership 25 miles away, I just stopped with the camaro this past summer to visit and see if there were any employees still around from 37 years ago. They gave me a couple stickers and licence frames, had a great converstation with the current staff and a couple customers. It is a small town dealer and they have been spared for the time being anyway.Comment

Re: The Story of a Chevelle and A Demolished Dealership
My brothers chevelle came from one of the local dealers that is now gone
Merrnan Chevy . My grandfather worked there from 47 {second year they were open}till he retired and bought it as a daily driver it was a 250/power glide car.My father was also a tech there from the year he graduated till they closed in 93/94 they another dealer called him .My uncle is a Sheriffe and when they tore down Merrnans he stoped as kind of a joke and grabed a brick from the show room and gave it to my pops and said"here is the last peice of Merrnan Chevy " and it was .
All the old timers from there do a lunch once a mounth and they are slowly passing away My mom was invited to go as my gramps and pop have both passed but she took my brick and they all signed it it is in my bar,my dad signed it when my uncle brought it over .Kinda funny but it means alot to me as that place was like another family to my family it is painted that funky teal color and it is the last peice of that place.Comment

Re: The Story of a Chevelle and A Demolished Dealership
My camaro was bought brand new (dealer demo) by my parents from Jerry Roth Chevrolet in Denver. Their neighbor at the time was a salesman (Jim Ribble) their. The lady that my mom carpooled with to Lowry AFB liked it so much that she bought one from him. The only difference is, the one she bought is a lemans blue SS 350/auto car. That car sits in a garage close by to this day, it has 168k on it and the owner has my #!Whiskey for my men ... and beer for their horses!Comment

Re: The Story of a Chevelle and A Demolished Dealership
A buddy of mine John coffey still has his 1970 el camino that he bought new at Camp(now Lithia) chevrolet here locally.
After one repaint and new upholstery for the seat the car looks almost as good as the day he bought it and he says he still has a coupon for a complimentery oil change that he just might redeem someday.Comment
