Hot Rod Magazine, Vol. 1, No. 1

Just saw a guy over at HRMF who was lucky enough to acquire a mint copy (one corner bent) of the very first Hot Rod Magazine, Vol. 1, No. 1 dated January 1948 and he was wondering if anyone knew how much it would be worth.

I told him that the average market price would be significantly lower than what a collector who did not have that particular issue in his collection would be willing to pay, but finding that person would be the real trick.

Seems like it could be extremely valuable to the right person.
Anybody have any ideas ?

IDK about that one, but I did have a guy give me a 12 pack of bud light lime for the sept 98 issue.....

I got a reprint somewhere, it was given away with one of the anniversary issues.

there are a heck of a lot more reprints than there are originals. And the paper should feel/smell/look different...I have several HRMs from the early 50s, they are just different than the 80s magazines.
