    look at me.. I type and bounce...

    o.k.
    WFT
    I upgraded( : ) to ie8
    and now I type and it bounces... but only when I reply use'n the "quote"
    as I type this.. no movement..
    but if I type with the reply quote.. it bounces ever keystroke....
    I've try'd 5 other boards and it's only doing it here..
    but man is ie faster... pages take no time to load..
    any idea why the bounce..

          That happens to me too. So I type in my word processing program "Word". Then I cut and paste it in here. But for some reason it converts my apostrophies to question marks. ???

              Go to "Tools", "Compatibility View" and add BangShift.com to the list (which is probably blank). It'll take care of that.

                      IE8 does something funny to the text box you type in. Once you get about 3/4 down the box every time you type a letter the cursor bounces from where you are typing to the start of the text box and back. So it shows the top of the message, then types the letter at the end of the message (or where ever you place the cursor) and rapidly viewing the typed letter area then bounces back to the top of the text box. Does it for every letter, very annoying and you can't see what you've typed once you get to the bottom of the text box, which makes it most noticable when you quote someone.


                      (Did any of that make sense ???)

                              I use Mozilla Firefox, and I don't have any problems. I quit using Internet Explorer years ago because of weird stuff like that. It's better at blocking pop-ups too, so I don't see ever going back.

                                  Firefox here also, got tired of the issues with IE8/Vista. I like the fact it blocks most of the pop-ups, and has spell check built in. ;D
