Jeff did, but I don't think he's heard back from anyone yet. I hope he gets in, that way he'll hurry up on his EFI combo!

I would like to get a most legit jacket a 9 or a 10 second one, It will be a big feat to run a nine at that weight and SBNA, I have no chance at a top 10 with a N/A Small Block but if it makes it past Thursday night this time with the crank still in it. I will be cruising Beal Street ::) and driving around Friday in it to see the town I missed last year pulling rag out of the oil pan. :'(

I applied but as of 6:30 pm central time today no word. I will be there to spectate regardless. It seems as though Kyle at 1320 will not be there nor Hot Rod tv. Looks as though it may fall through the cracks.

Does not look good for the future of the PGD race. No coverage this year! Hey Dave how a Car Junkie PGD race? Hot Rod needs you back. Still no jackets from last year either. I spoke to Kyle its a shame he cannot make it. :o

It's unfortunate that the car entries struggled like that, but the PGD's design was an hour glass anyway. After the first race, whispers of purpose builts were everywhere and the arguement of funny car cages or 8.50 limits is a brick wall. Now its a couple guyz fighting for the top spot and the rest scrambling for the remaining 10 jackets. Give away two jackets and see how many show up. A brilliant event that had its day.
Not to mention Memphis has got to be the most consistant non hookin track in the country.
Now DragWeek is a whole different animal...I dont know what could stop that other than our economy.

DF it was hard not to sign up this year to make it 5 years straight. But after DW this was the real test to man and car. There both cool events but Ill stick with DW for awhile unless you guys come up with something cooler. Also PGDs I gain weight DW not enough time to drink or eat as much so I lose weight. Id rather gain ;D

My vote was to kill PGD last year. I think Drag Week proves it all and is where the focus should be. But when you attend PGD it's still pretty great.

Here ya go!
Below is the list of the 69 participants invited to the 2008 Pump Gas Drags in Memphis. Each invitee has been sent an email, except for 3 of you that didn't include an email address. We will either snail-mail the invite to you, or call on the phone. But you're probably not reading this anyway since, ya know, you don't have email.
Remember that nearly everyone who entered by the deadline was accepted, so the usual "You picked too many Camaros" or "why no AMC's?" will fall on deaf ears this year! Also, we're aware of the early problems with emailing entries, but at least 68 of you figured it out, so if yours didn't make it through...sorry.
Now, without further ado.....

Nope I dont, I have a plate, that was given to me last year. I really dont think I can use it on my set up, maybe a sneeky petes worth, but then you might as well be N/A. I am hearing voices to try it its a last minute deal if I try, I mean Brian uses it. ;) can't be all bad and so does Eric, they set the Standard in N/A for me. I hear it's like cocain, use it once, and your never going N/A again.
Yeah, I hear you Brian, but I was not at light weight for Drag Week ;) I was packing some then too, just did not have to take it out.
I have great respect for your ride, but not enough to add that much weight to mine, unless its with a Big Block

nope, no spray on mine. i was gonna put my plate system on this motor (once upon a time i had a nitrous'd 440 in the car) but i'd have to spend a lot of money to do it right. it'd need a new rear gear, converter, bigger fuel system, ignition system, etc. i'd rather just run N/A for now.
about being heavy...my 'cuda is 3500 lbs WITHOUT me in it and i am 6'5" - 300 lbs.
i don't think my mid 9s at a buck 40 is gonna do it, but i'm gonna try 8) CHIP

You will be a lot closer than you think. They run a pro tree and some of those guys were cutting .630 to .780 lights last year. Low qualifier last year was a 9.14 with just one qualifying pass. 3800 lbs and mid 9's all motor is impressive. After I get the Dana in mine and the cage finished mine will probably be 3900 with me in it.

well i bought a turn key race car.. i made 4 passes in it then tore it apart. i have redone everything.
2 new 1/4's, both rockers, put in inner fenders, new fiberglass fenders and bumper. wired it for street use(even wipers)rebuilt short block with billit caps and a girddle, plumbed an intake for NOS, new seats, had converter rebuilt for spray, changed gears in the dana , put on ladder bars/ coilovers, turned the bar to a cage. redid entire dash , redid tin work seperating trunk from driver compartment, installed factory console, got rid of the black pleage under the hood(painted it alpine white)same with the trunk, moved fuel system to the trunk , found out i had a fuel leak, ignited fuel leak , torched finished trunk and garage floor, then bought 5 new fire extinguishers, and today im in the process of redoing trunk.... this was a finished driving turn key car i got on oct.29 . in doing this project i tought myself to weld, paint, and fight fires.
Dustin
PS
everyone check those extinguishers....1 of the 3 i had in my garage was dead.... and it took everybit of the 2 that worked

Just to set things "Straight", because, I am in the midwest, and not going to "Change teams" :o it must have a different meaning than in the "Wild, Wild West" ::)
I am still looking for a Mopar intake for my chevy, thats about as close as I will get to playing Kaw Kaw. (noise a mopar starter makes, when the car does not start)

Well I got my Dana put in (that ought to kill about a tenth or two),so I added the ZEX perimeter plate with a window switch and MSD timing retard to catch back up,front floor pans are being done now, then a couple of light weight front buckets. Ought to tip the scales at about 3850 race weight.
