I know there some GM techs around here so I thought I would post before I looked into it too much.My 03 GMC truck speedometer doesn't go below 25 MPH and the gas gauge went way past full and has wrapped back Around to the "E". I'm pretty sure they have had problems with this cluster and there might have even been a recall. Any thoughts?

I put the truck in reverse and tried to start it a couple of time (of course it wouldn't) but this did get the speedo back to 0 MPH. The Fuel gauge is still reading past full though. -

We have had to send "a few" of these clusters out for repair through the dealer. Pricey, but at least turn around was quick with Specmo(GM repair service) not too far away from here. Seems like you can't change even a light bulb in one of these clusters anymoreDonna

I have a 2003 Tahoe that had issues. The oil pressure gauge would go all the way around back to zero! There was a service bulletin on the gauge cluster. My local dealer exchanged it, but has was not happy. They really wanted to charge me the $900.00 they claim it costs! Since it has been replced I have not had any problems.Comment

I phoned the GMC dealer this morning. They figure I'll be getting a new cluster under warranty. They might even let me upgrade to an Escalade version! SWEET!Comment

speaking of later truck clusters....wife's 99 silverado has an intermittent problem with the display brightness of the shift quadrant and message center, the rest of the gages work fine. Is this another one of those "send it off" problems?

Speedo on my 03 2500HD does this from time to time. I pop the hood and pull the IPC fuse for about thirty seconds and replace. Restart the truck and it works fine for another few weeks. Going to have to replace mine as well before too long.Comment

real easy to change bulbs in the 99 to 04? you have to solder them in the 05? and later i cant remember what year it swapped.Originally posted by redragtop

The new cluster is on the way. 7 year warranty unlimited miles on 2003 clusters. So I beat it by a year. ;D

do you know if this is the same warranty for '04's Mine didn't make the orignal recall because it had too many miles when I got the recall 1.5 years ago. I'm at 124k and its been broke for 2 years. its the speedo only, and i've been having to deal with the gps everytime I drive PITA.Comment
