I am going to run manual streering in my 86 Thunderbird, my plan is to just run the stock rack with the fliud drained from it and plugs ware the hoses go. I am more concerned with the colum and streering shaft, unlike a Mustang I have not found a convertion kit for the car. Can I modify stock stuff? Can I just use it as is?

Spline adapter. Use power shaft with manual rack.
