Good friend of mine bought a Buick 455 in a junkyard that had been sitting for years (like 30 of em) . He got it sll apart but aparently the motor had spun a couple of bearings (probably how the car ended up in the yard) anyhow he got all the rods and pistons out and the caps off but the crank still wont come out.anybody got any ideas?

Re: Stuck Crank
Assuming the crank may be junk anyways with the spun bearings and rust, violence is the key! I doubt the bearing shells can hold the crank to the block too solidly. Either the crank will separate from the bearings or the bearings will pull from the crank. Big pry bar and a BFH will be your friends.Escaped on a technicality.Comment

Re: Stuck Crank
Just hit the snout of the crank with a sledge hammer a couple of times, that should free everything up. An old wrecking yard guy I used to know taught me that one. If you have a bolt that won't break loose, you smack it with a hammer a few times and it's bust loose every time. Seems like that's all that crank is needing, a couple good smacks. ;)Comment
