Dodge Ram p-up electrical

My buddy just bought a 99 Ram 2500. Dome lights dont work (no power at light) the power mirrors dont work either
and it seems it has no heat (blower works on all speeds), the temp never changes at all so I dont think its a blocked heater core. Can anyone give me any where to start looking to help him out? Maybe a good forum or a little insight into this truck?

Dome light, power mirrors, and usually the power seats are all on the Body Fuse, usually. Start there.

Newer cars and trucks don't have the older style heater control valves, I think. It was a vacuum operated valve in the heater hoses under hood. With newer cars, I'm thinking the AC/heater controller in the dash being bad. Spidey would probably know better.

Or Min. The power mirrors on the Dakota died shortly after I got the truck and the fuse labeled for it was OK. When my friend Dave hooked up the brake controller we found out that there was no power in the cavity that was supposed to power the trailer brakes (my Dak has the trailering package). We installed a jumper to make it work and, among other things, the mirrors were fixed. One of the things we learned is that the wiring diagrams for the '98 Dakota are incorrect. I guess I'm suggesting that you be prepared to dig a little as there may be errors.

I have a 98, same truck.

DOme light and mirrors are on the same fuse, so that's likely that problem.

If the dash temp gauge shows normal operating temp, but the heater blend doesn't work, then it's likely a vacuum leak or line missing...

I can dig out the service manual later foryou if he cannot figure it out,

Ok so far this is what we have found .The heat sitution after further investigation is because the heater core was indeed bypassed . It ook some poking around because the truck has a lift kit on it and you cant see in there goodwithout a stool and the firsrt time we didt have one. Nest the mirrors and dome light had no fuse in it so we replaced it and it popped right away so we are looking for a short.Im gonna unplug everything and one at a time put it all back together and see what happens (sound good?)
