      Re: Holley Carb Question.

Does it look like 1/2 of a Holley 4 barrel? If so it's either a 350 or 500 CFM. Both good carbs. All the tuning stuff applies (except anything relating to the secondaries). Holley also made a ton of other carbs and I'm not up on part numbers so it could be something else entirely. My experience with Holley tech is pretty good but it takes them FOREVER to pick up the phone - be prepared for a LONG hold (Lunch, dinner, drinks, a mag or two - they all help pass the time).

that is like the newer carb Holley tried fro a while that resembled a ford 2 bbl .. I liked the one i had as it would idle down low and clean... suffered a bit on the top end though....

you need the number that's stamped on the front of the choke housing on top, not a casting number...

probably not enough to build a whole new car...

                Re: Holley Carb Question.

Jim was trying to lighten things up - he's a good guy (I spent some time with him at Bonneville - he's OK).

Anyhow, it's not one of the "more valuable" Holley 2 barrels. I looks like the type that came on Pintos for a while but I could be wrong. Anyhow, probably not worth more than $15/20 but that's just a guess. If you call Holley tech they can tell you exactly what it was for, but like I said, be prepared to sit on hold for a while.

Nothing wrong with trying to make a buck on car parts, for sure. Get 'em cheap and sell 'em high - that's the name of the game. Somehow, I always do it the other way around. Good luck.

                  Re: Holley Carb Question.

no sweat...I was hinting that I have no idea what it's worth, but it probably isn't worth a whole lot.

If you want to find out, put it on ebay for a dollar with no reserve, if two people want it then you WILL find the actual market value.

and Dan thanks for sticking up for me ;) and it's not a pinto carb, they're progessive linkage (staged 2bbl)

Mount it on plywood, glue some moulding around the outside as a frame, paint, then post on e-bay as "Gearhead Art" (with a reserve of $1000).

Let me know if it works out.

Maybe there's a market for that /6 valve with one side missing (burned off). Thanks for the artistic inspiration.
