Dude, I'm jealous. I could have had one myself, but I didn't have anywhere to put it.

The goal of the look of it is a traditional highboy hot rod... nothing fancy, not a bunch of chrome/billet... I ain't into that bright shiny stuff... even the paint is going to be flat....

The goal of having it ready... well, it is pretty high... it should be ready for HRPT '08... it will probably be ready to be driven the first time sometime in April... I hope...

Whats high? The goal, The stance on your hot rod, or you for thinking you can get it done by April?

Im jus playin, ive seen more extensive cars come together in less time. Its just a matter of how bad you want it. Mind over matter right?

Are you going to leave it hoodless? I love seeing the motor hanging out there in all of its glory.

Yes, no hood... I am going to have the top part of the hood handy in case I know that I am going to get caught in some rain... don't need the carb sucking water... but it will definately not get the hood sides... they won't fit with the lake style headers anyways...

Are you going to stick with skinny tires (piecutters)? Very nice project. Please keep us posted with plenty of pics.

The front tires are going to be 215/70 on 15x7 and the rears are 285/70 on 15x10... the most extreme stagger that I could live with... i should have some more pic next week as the frame should be going to paint next week...

Added some more pics of what has been done the past couple of weeks... Here s a rundown...

Cut the floor pan out below the seat so that the bod would drop down over the 'Z'... roughly mocked up the gas tank. I am using a 32 tank with 32 rear frame horns....

also have the new firewall clamped in... cut the hole for the steering column in the firewall... front suspension mocked up... still have to mount the front shocks and steering...

Today I pulled the window regulators out and cleaned them up and shot a little paint on them... did the same for the rear/rear quarter window garnish moldings....

The photo album is here... http://www.flickr.com/gp/9996522@N03/F6n9c9

I don't have any pics yet, but the frame is finished... The guy that is helping me with teaches auto collision at the local high school and we took it over there for him to use as a teaching aid... the kids get to do a little grinding/dressing of the welds, learn how to cut/fit gussets, and they are going to shoot the primer... I will follow them and shoot the paint on it... I will post some pics once I have some...
