Carnage Video: Watch the Rear Axle Get Ripped Clean Out of a Pulling Truck!By Brian Lohnes Posted 03/12/2010
Carnage is something that happens with regularity in all motorsports. Truck and tractor pulling is no exception. With motors and drivetrain parts being worked to within an inch of their lives under massive strain, occasionally stuff goes kablooey. It isn't normally this spectacular, though. Read More >
Neat Video: Buddies Horsing Around With Their Jag-Powered Slingshot, Dry Hops IncludedBy Brian Lohnes Posted 03/11/2010
This video struck us as very cool in a subtle way. It's basically a few guys tuning on a vintage slingshot dragster powered by a DOHC Jag engine. The thing sounds cool as hell, and the fact that they are pulling dry hops in an alley behind their shop of house is even cooler. We dug it because it's just a couple guys wrenching on a dragster, having fun. Read More >
Cool Video: A Huge Custom Unimog Struts Its StuffBy Brian Lohnes Posted 03/11/2010
Unimogs are bad ass 4x4s, and modified Unimogs are even better than that. This video shows a totally tricked out Unimog built by Couch Off Road Engineering for the firearms company Magpul Industries. The truck has been converted into a bus of sorts and rides on massive tires, has a worked over diesel motor, and a bunch of custom fab work to boot. We want this truck! Read More >
Hilarious Video: A Crazy, Dirt Track, Big Rig Race at the Webster County FairBy Brian Lohnes Posted 03/10/2010
Talk about grassroots racing. Take an open area, throw some huge old equipment tires around the edges and center of said area, form an oval about a quarter mile in length, and allow people to race big rigs around it. Where the hell do we sign up? This is friggin' awesome. Read More >

Crazy Video: A Turbocharged Camaro That Hates to Have the Front Tires on the GroundBy Brian Lohnes Posted 03/10/2010
This incredible video, showing Texan Kevin Cram in his twin turbo'd Camaro, beats all we've ever seen. Powered by a Proline Race Engines-built big block Chevy, and obviously dialed in by someone who knows what they hell they're doing, this car simply refuses to keep the front tires on the ground, at basically any point on the Houston Motorsports Park eighth-mile course. This is 100% BangShift.com approved mania! Read More >
Crazy Video: 8-second passes on a small tire and only 200ciBy Brian Lohnes Posted 03/9/2010
While it's kind of impossible to call a race car a sleeper, we'd never guess that a Cortina backing 200ci of straight six Ford power would be uncorking 8 second lap times all day long. This car is an amazing testament to how a science'd out turbocharger application can really bring the thunder. Read More >

Cool Video: Big Wheelstand From Hemi-Powered Willys GasserBy Brian Lohnes Posted 03/2/2010
There are few things more iconic in the halls of hot rodding than a blown Willys Gasser. With rolling curves, bulging fenders, and propensity to swallow large motors at will, the Willys went from a truly lowly stocker to a hot rod icon when racers discovered that they were light and had a roomy engine bay. The one in this video is sporting 392 Hemi power. Read More >
Video: The 7,700-Pound, 5-engine, Black Widow Pulling Tractor in ActionBy Brian Lohnes Posted 03/2/2010
We were initially tipped off to a great video of the Ohio-based Black Widow pulling tractor by BangShift.com forum member 67Prostreet. Here's the video of this five-engined monster being used in anger on the pulling course. This tractor is truly a show stopper. It's owned by David Archer and driven by his daughter Kathy. The big lug of a tractor was pulling over in Holland when this videos were shot. Read More >
Amazing Historic Videos: Turbonique Company Promotional FilmsBy Brian Lohnes Posted 02/25/2010
Turbonique was one of the most interesting, insane, and short lived companies in the history of hot rodding. Most of you probably have the basic idea of what the company sold, but for those of you who don't, Turbonique sold rocket engines, self powered superchargers, and the truly demented "Turbo Drag Axle" which was a turbine driven off the rear end using the company's Thermolene monopropellant. Hilarious Video: Guy Drives Deuce and a Half Through Above Ground PoolBy Brian Lohnes Posted 02/25/2010
Watching this video will make you really want a deuce and a half truck. It will also serve as a good base for the guaranteed argument you'll have with your spouse when you share that idea. Clearly this truck is a useful piece of equipment to have around the house. They're great at lots of stuff, like knocking down pools. To be clear, pools still full of water. Read More >
Killer Video: A Big 4x4 Ford Truck That's Way Too QuickBy Brian Lohnes Posted 02/24/2010
What kind of lunatic builds an all-aluminum 511ci Ford FE engine and plugs it into a huge, lifted 4x4 truck for the purposes of drag racing it? A BangShift.com approved lunatic, that's who! As you'll see in the video, this truck has big slicks mounted on all four corners and it sounds totally awesome. Read More >

Video Bonanza: U-Haul trucks Getting ThrashedBy Brian Lohnes Posted 02/22/2010
We'll admit right off the bat that we have beaten down a U-Haul truck or two in our day. We got a V10 powered model high sided on a pile of tires one time. It's kind of a long story, but let's just say that the rev limiter on that truck got used really well. The videos in this Bonanza take it to another level. This is pure rental truck violence. BangShift.com does not endorse or encourage this behavior, but since these hoons did it, we may as well enjoy it. Read More >
Carnage Video Pair: Hitting the Christmas TreeBy Brian Lohnes Posted 02/19/2010
It's the ultimate drag racing party foul, running over the Christmas tree. Aside from being rare and usually pretty spectacular, it is a major pain in the ass for the track personnel. Once the tree gets wiped out, all the glass from the light bulbs needs to be cleaned off the track and if there was damage done to the electrical hook-ups, it can take hours to get another tree working properly. These guys pulled the ultimate whoopsie doodle. Read More >
Video Bonanza: Burnout Fail! (You're Doing it Wrong)By Brian Lohnes Posted 02/18/2010
After posting the tire explosion video earlier today, we were in the mood to find more videos of burnout related failures. As it turns out, searching for "tire explosion" on YouTube delivers many clips of people seating tires on wheels with flammable liquids and a match. That ends badly fairly often, but is not as fun to watch as these few clips we liked of actual power-burnout fails. Read More >
