2010 Detroit Autorama Wrap-Up and Photos of the Hot Rodding Load-OutBy Chad Posted 03/1/2010
OK, that's it. We've covered every inch of the 2010 Detroit Autorama for three days, and tonight was the end of it with the traditional exiting of all the hot rods out of Cobo Hall and into the snowy Detroit winter night. We've heard great stories of the load-out night turning into a pretty good show in itself, but this year all the drivers were sadly pretty tame as they left the building. That didn't stop us from getting a final photo gallery of some of Autorama's cars in action on the street. It's a nice end to a great weekend. Read More >
857 Photos of the 2010 Detroit AutoramaBy Chad Posted 02/28/2010
We've been here at the 2010 Detroit Autorama for two days so far, soaking up the Midwest's first big car get-together of the year and snapping photos until we're ready to just saw off our worn out trigger finger. And we've been walking the show floor in Cobo Hall so much that our feet are worn off down to the ankle. That's what it took to bring you this first batch of coverage with 730-plus photos from the show. Read More >
Event Coverage: Philadelphia's Motorsports Expo 2010 By Brian Lohnes Posted 02/2/2010
This year marks the 25th Len Sammons Motorsports Race Car and Trade Show held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pennsylvania. The locals just call the show "Motorsports," and it's jammed with historic and current cars like midgets, dirt modifieds, sprinters, outlaws, karts, road racers and even drag racers. It looks like the kind of thing any real BangShifter would go nuts for. Read More >

Gallery: Van Nuys Blvd. Cruise Night, January 2010By Chad Posted 01/15/2010
On Wednesday night we headed to Van Nuys, California, for the new tradition of the revised cruise night on famous Van Nuys Blvd. It was the first one of the new year, and it was ice cold for So Cal, so the turnout was a little smaller than we've seen in the past. Also, the empty dealership lot where the hot rods park has been sold to a new owner. The good news is the owner is looking the other way and allowing the cruise to happen. The bad news is that they won't turn on the lights, so it's dark as the inside of a cow. Read More >

Photo Gallery: The John Force Racing Holiday Car ShowBy Chad Posted 12/7/2009
You out-of-towners may not believe this, but it actually rained in SoCal this weekend. That made us worry that there would be a small turnout at the annual John Force Racing Holiday Car Show, but the skies dried up and loads of cars flocked to the Funny Car racing center in Yorba Linda, California. BangShift.com has a photo gallery with full event coverage, from the cruising cars outside to a peak inside the race shop. Read More >

Big thanks to BangShift.com forum member BigDad for providing us this gallery from the Pistons and Paint Numero 8 show in Denton, Texas, on November 14, 2009. Photo Gallery: Great Car Show at a Better Junkyard!By Brian Lohnes, Photos by Joe Grippo Posted 11/10/2009
Once again, our eastern contributor Joe Grippo has delivered the goods with two big photo galleries from a great car show held November 7 at Fleming's Auto Parts in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. The best part of this deal is that Harry Fleming who runs the place has an enormous junkyard in the woods, and it's filled with the types of vintage cars and trucks we all wish we had rotting in the back yard. Joe says that none of the stuff is for sale, but trades may be welcomed. Read More >
BangShift.com's favorite Mustangs from SEMA 2009By Chad Reynolds Posted 11/10/2009
One of the biggest surprises for us at the 2009 SEMA Show was the number of cool old Mustangs. We were expecting nothing but late models, but much to our delight, we found Trans Am racers, Cammer powered street machines, and Pro-Touring cars from the '60s. One of the highlights was the #15 Boss 302 Trans Am Mustang that ran during the '71 season. Read More >
Event Coverage: SEMA 2009 Friday Photo BonanzaBy Brian Lohnes Posted 11/9/2009
Here's our last big gallery from the 2009 SEMA show. This one was shot on Friday and looks at some parts and lots of cars and trucks. One of the neatest parts of the show is the major traffic jam of hot rods and specialty vehicles that all try to exit the convention center at the same time on Friday evening. Watching the monster trucks drive down the public streets was an interesting sight to behold! Read More >
