Project Car: Complete Buildup Photos of the First F.A.S.T. Mopar in the 10sBy Brian Lohnes Posted 01/04/10
Regular readers got to know BangShift.com member Joel Nystrum several weeks ago when we had a video of him powershifting his 30,000-mile original Hemi GTX on an 11-second pass. That was one 1967 Plymouth GTX, and this is another, though this one is a clone. That's because Joel's goal was to build the ultimate Factory Appearing Stock Tire race car. And he did. Joel's car became the first Mopar F.A.S.T. racer to run 10s. And that's 10.92 on stock bias-ply tires. And that's 10.92 on stock bias-ply tires, with factory appearance down to the casting numbers.
Joel recently gave BangShift.com forum members an incredible buildup story with photos from day 1 of this car. Click here to see the entire buildup of this 10-second, stock-appearing Hemi GTX.
Below the photos is a video of the 10.92 pass.
Here's the 10.92 pass

nice work. I like his mentality.. never make anything look extreme if you do not have to. It coincides with the real mechanics that made those cars famous in the first place.
