As one of the few alive and aware "back in the day" let me comment on the pinup girls. Basically, they don't quite get it. First of all, a real pinup girl would NEVER have a tattoo - at least one that shows. It was a SCANDAL if your bra or any part of your undies showed. Maybe a slip but even that was considered a mistake to be immediately corrected. The sailor girl comes the closest to capturing "the look". But maybe I missed the point.
That said, they are darling and loads of fun to look at. Darn if I can remember why.......
