Killer Video: A Big 4x4 Ford Truck That's Way Too QuickBy Brian Lohnes Posted 02/24/10
What kind of lunatic builds an all-aluminum 511ci Ford FE engine and plugs it into a huge, lifted 4x4 truck for the purposes of drag racing it? A BangShift.com approved lunatic, that's who! As you'll see in the video, this truck has big slicks mounted on all four corners and it sounds totally awesome.
Oh yeah, it goes like stink too. 6.90s in the eighth-mile is moving for this large hunk of Ford. Dig the strip as well. Hypoxia Dragway in Wyoming is as low key and stripped down as they come, and it claims to be the strip at the highest elevation in the USA at 6,600 feet, making the Ford even more impressive. We love it.

It looks like there isn't a return road and the vehicles have to come back the strip. It looks like the bike has already turned back towards the starting line and the truck is turning around.

So, Uinta County, Wyoming - population 20,000 - has it's own quarter mile drag strip.
Los Angeles county - population 10,000,000 - has how many full time quarter mile dragstrips? Zero >:(
(fontana is technically in San Bernardino County)
sad state of affairs..

Love stuff like that. Reminds me of a 70's Ford mason dump I saw run a high 12's at Reading, PA track.

I remember seeing an article about that truck. It was called "Brickslayer", I think it had a Paxton blower.

I wonder what he has for a trans? The one-two shift sounds like an automatic, but two three sounds like a stick shift power shifted.

Common for a C-6, late 2-3 shift. A big servo spring and a good manual valvebody cures that. Imagine that thing with an 8", 4800rpm converter.
Add flaps and taillights, that thing would be killer on the streets.

You can bracket race anything. All your doing is going up against the clock. I love me a good drag race just not bracket racing.

powertour stop..
or maybe a bangshift aint tour stop..
looks cool..
we need more tracks like this...
