The Shakedown at E-Town in Englishtown, New Jersey, is the baddest ass specialty door slammer drag race in the world. It is not a series, it is an annual occurrence that seems to reset the performance boundaries of door slammers. This year the numbers were astounding with Jim Halsey running 5.86 at 243 mph in a nitrous Pro Mod. The small-tire cars, radial classes, and everything else about the race is wild, too.
We were towing our C50 home the day of the event but luckily for us, Dan Grippo (whose brother Joe is a frequent BangShift.com contributor) was at Englishtown snapping photos in the pits and around the track to give you a taste of some of the iron was battling on the strip.
