Here's a fairly new video on Streetfire of a fairly old crash. It depicts a 1989 Corvette Challege race, where driver Stu Hayner ran over a wheel and tire that fell off of another car, and got a lot of air time. He walked away. You'll need to watch it a few times.

Looks like the catch fence got the worst of it.
Bet the Vette's roof was scratched, and that was all.
The driver probably needs new undies, though.

That is just plain scary. How much worse would it have been had not the catch fence been there? Amazing.
